Mark Day
Mark is one of the most respected guitarists and “Tone Hounds” on the planet.
A guitarists guitarist, Mark came to prominence as the guitarist for the Sam Hill band in the 90’s who became the “House Band” in Canada behind some of the contestants from the CBS TV show Rockstar Supernova .
Online Mark was fast gaining a reputation for his knowledge of rack systems, pedals and guitars and that reputation only grew when Mark started his YouTube channel demoing gear from the likes of Suhr, Custom Audio Amplification and Fractal Audio.
Marks always amazing guitar tone and playing won him the respect of many professional guitarists worldwide and It was not long before the calls came in and Mark was invited to join the team at Friedman Amplification’s Tone Merchant’s where he started working on rigs for a veritable who’s who of Rock stars including Steve Lukather, Steve Stevens, Joe Bonamassa, George Lynch, Justin Derrico, etc.
At the same time Mark was gaining a legion of fans on his You Tube channel whilst making videos for Friedman and Fractal Audio and performing jaw dropping covers of guitar solos from Van Halen, Neal Schon (Journey) George Lynch (Dokken) Jake E Lee (Ozzy Osborne) enhancing his reputation even further as a major player in the world of guitar tone.
This reputation was confirmed when Mark was then approached by Fractal Audio makers of the world’s best Amp and effects unit the Axe FX.
Mark took the gig and became what he is to this day the “Fractal Artist in Residence” putting presets together for their unit, making videos of the gear and offering support to Fractal users from the stars to the rest of us guys that love Fractal gear. Some of the presets on the units are even named after him!
Mark continues to play with long time Canadian friends and associates Don Lacompte and the drummer from Canada’s top rock band April Wine Roy Nichol in their Journey Tribute.
Mark is the guitarists guitarist and anyone who is serious about tone knows just how much Mark has helped paint and continues to paint the landscape of rock guitar tone to this day.
Shijie Guitars are very proud to have Mark as a Shijie Artist and the fact he chooses and use’s our guitars gives us great pride and inspiration .
